So maybe you're as shocked as I was when I found out that Downey's Farm isn't exactly in Brampton! So "technically" it's in Caledon, but I decided to blog about it anyway because if you grew up in Brampton, you have probably enjoyed a beautiful & fun day there at least once every Spring, Summer, & Fall! And Heart Lake Rd. is literally a hop, skip & jump away from Brampton!
I have been reluctant to accept that summer is over and Fall is here. I just wanted to hold on to that summer feeling a little while longer, until today! With the sunshine and beautiful warm weather today I thought, let's go to Downey's Farm. As soon as we arrived and saw the Pumpkin Fest, I let go of summer and full heartedly embraced Fall and quickly remembered how much I love Fall! What better way can you celebrate Fall than with a visit to a local entertainment farm?
Our boys had a ball at Downey's today. They played in the blow up caterpillar, the spider web ropes, the playground, the sandbox, and the various other activities on the farm. We took a wagon ride, watched a puppet show and enjoyed the spooky decor! We only have one complaint. We feel there should be a late entry fee. The farm closes at 5:00, but they'll allow you to enter until 4:00. The entrance fee was still full price for a mere hour of fun. I think it would have been fair to offer a discounted rate for late arrivals. We did learn our lesson though: Get there early, and let the kids really enjoy all that there is to offer.
We will be going back to Downey's as its a definite family favorite of ours. I'm sad to say that I didn't enjoy a pumpkin donut this time... so I just have to go back!
